Insite Group in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Tax Investigations Manager to join our growing team. You will lead a varied portfolio of HMRC investigations from enquiry to settlement, with a focus on COP8/COP9 cases and high-value matters.

The role offers hybrid working in Birmingham, exposure to complex HMRC processes, and clear progression opportunities within a Top 15 firm. You will mentor junior colleagues and work directly with clients and HMRC.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within Tax Investigations.
• Strong experience dealing directly with HMRC.
• Experience managing investigations from opening to settlement.
• COP8 and COP9 experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of HMRC investigation processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing client relationships and/or junior team members.

Responsabilités

• Work across a broad range of tax investigations from enquiry to resolution.
• Take responsibility for cases including COP8/COP9, WDF and voluntary disclosures.
• Review financial information and identify potential tax liabilities.
• Prepare technical submissions and correspondence to HMRC.
• Manage settlement negotiations and challenge HMRC positions.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
