CareerWise Recruitment is supporting a growing tech company in their search for a Senior Tax and Audit Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fully remote role, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will support activities for a publicly listed, rapidly growing software company with expanding international operations. Below are the responsibilities and some requirements for this role.

Role of this position

• Ensure compliance with all tax obligations including Transfer Pricing, Corporation Tax, VAT, Sales Taxes, etc., and timely reporting.
• Liaise with external tax advisors to stay updated on relevant tax legislation amendments and assess their impact on the business.
• Support tax planning initiatives and work with external advisors to prepare transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance.
• Analyze VAT, sales taxes, and other tax requirements arising from customer contracts.
• Provide support to all areas of the business on tax-related matters.
• Prepare group annual and local entity tax returns, liaising with external advisors to ensure timely submission.
• Assist in preparing R&D tax credit claims, ensuring documentation is complete and compliant.
• Develop and lead internal audit strategies, coordinating with external consultants to ensure compliance.
• Lead external audits to ensure they are completed timely and accurately.
• Liaise with stakeholders as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Tax qualification (AITI) or similar preferred.
• 5+ years of PQE, including tax experience.
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI and other MS Office tools is an advantage.
• High attention to detail, accuracy in numerical and written work.
• Self-motivated, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with public companies is advantageous.
• Experience with NetSuite is desirable but not required.
