Senior Tankering Planner - Night Shift

Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a Senior Planner to join the Logistics Management Centre at our Durrington Head Office near Worthing, West Sussex. The role focuses on coordinating tankering logistics for the Southern Water contract, scheduling drivers, routes and deliveries on a 4 on 4 off night shift (6:00pm–6:00am), and ensuring accurate planning data.

You will work closely with drivers and clients, manage updates in Big Change / Ortec, maintain records, and escalate issues to managers to protect SLA

• Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritise.

Responsibilities

• Update the job details in Big Change / Ortec based on new information or feedback.
• Close jobs on Big Change if not carried out by drivers.
• Escalate unresolves backlogs to relevant managers.
• Ensure all planning, job, and locations spreadsheets current and accurate.
• Maintain shared inboxes with timely responses and organised records.
• Capture and log all customer and contractor communications.
• Track Tankering departure timings via samsara.
• Monitor and respond to reactive work requests and escalations.
• Maintain live operative locations spreadsheets for accurate deployment.
• Coordinate with drivers to confirm dispatch times, routes and availabilities.
• Review and assign client requests promptly via Big change / Ortec.
• Capture and log changes to job details, site notes and client feedback.
• Update compliance reports and speak to relevant management for any failings.
• Record downtime, delays and reasons for missed SLAs
• Any ad-hoc from lead planner
