Engineering & Technology Hiring
4 days in the office.
About the opportunity:
We are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth European fintech business that is continuing to scale its technology and product capabilities across multiple international markets.
The business has ambitious plans for its next stage of growth and is continuing to invest significantly in its Engineering organisation. As part of this, they are looking for an experienced Senior Talent Partner to take ownership of some of their most important and complex technical hiring.
This is not a transactional recruitment role. The successful individual will operate as a genuine strategic partner to senior Engineering leadership, combining exceptional direct sourcing and market-mapping capability with the ability to influence hiring strategy, improve assessment and use data to drive better decisions.
The business is focused on maintaining an exceptionally high technical hiring bar as it scales. Quality is valued over simply increasing hiring volumes, and the Talent team is expected to challenge, advise and influence rather than simply deliver against vacancies.
The role:
Sitting within the central Talent Acquisition team and reporting to the Head of Talent Acquisition, you’ll partner closely with senior Engineering leaders, Engineering Managers, technical specialists and the wider People team.
You’ll have significant ownership over how the organisation attracts, assesses and ultimately hires Engineering talent across its European operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning end-to-end recruitment for complex and business-critical Engineering positions, including senior individual contributors, Engineering Leads and niche technical specialists.
- Building and executing sophisticated direct sourcing and talent-mapping strategies across multiple European markets.
- Developing centralised talent pipelines across key Engineering disciplines, enabling the business to take a broader and more proactive approach to technical hiring.
- Partnering with VP and Director-level Engineering stakeholders to understand workforce requirements, hiring priorities and future capability needs.
- Running detailed hiring-manager intake sessions, translating technical requirements into clear candidate profiles, assessment criteria and sourcing strategies.
- Partnering closely with Engineering Managers and senior technical stakeholders to continually improve interview and selection processes.
- Leading structured candidate debriefs and ensuring hiring decisions are based on clear evidence and consistently high standards.
- Creating innovative sourcing strategies for particularly difficult technical searches, incorporating AI-enabled sourcing, targeted outbound campaigns, market mapping, events and external communities.
- Coaching hiring managers and interviewers around structured interviewing, candidate experience and effective selection.
- Using recruitment data including time-to-hire, offer acceptance, conversion rates and quality of hire to identify bottlenecks and influence hiring decisions.
- Leading wider Talent projects focused on areas such as interview training, employer brand, assessment, levelling, sourcing technology and AI.
- Providing Engineering leadership with external talent intelligence, including candidate availability, competitor activity, compensation and wider market trends.
What we're looking for:
We're looking for an experienced Technical Recruiter / Senior Talent Partner who combines strong Engineering recruitment knowledge with genuine strategic partnering capability.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Extensive experience recruiting Engineering and Technology talent within a high-growth technology, fintech, SaaS or product-led organisation.
- A strong track record recruiting senior and specialist Engineering profiles, potentially including Senior/Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, Data or other niche technical disciplines.
- Experience recruiting across multiple European markets and an understanding of how technical talent markets differ geographically.
- Exceptional direct sourcing, headhunting and market-mapping skills, particularly when targeting passive Engineering talent.
- Experience developing or improving technical hiring processes, including interview structures, assessment frameworks, pipelines and hiring-manager calibration.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge and influence senior Engineering leaders when required.
- A genuine interest in Engineering and Technology and the ability to build credibility with highly technical stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of recruitment analytics and the ability to use data to influence hiring strategy and improve performance.
- Practical experience using AI and modern recruitment technology to improve sourcing, personalisation, market intelligence and recruitment efficiency.
- A builder mentality – someone who enjoys identifying problems, improving processes and creating better ways of working rather than simply operating within an existing recruitment model.
