Job summary

Five Education are seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support secondary students with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and speech/language needs. The role involves 1:1 or small-group work, adapting materials, and close collaboration with staff to implement effective strategies.

Candidates should have experience with SEND, strong communication, and a patient, flexible approach. DBS update service required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND (Autism, ADHD) is essential.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Two recent references from the last two years.
• Right to work in the UK; Sponsorship not offered.
• DBS Update Service or willingness to apply (cost £62.70) and provided by employer if needed.

Responsibilities

• Adapt learning materials and teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and developmental levels.
• Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support based on individual needs and EHCP targets.
• Support students in developing communication, emotional regulation, and independent learning skills.
• Supervise students during break and lunch, ensuring wellbeing and inclusion throughout the school day.
