Job summary

Five Education are seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced secondary in Taunton, supporting students with SEND including Autism, ADHD and speech/language needs. You will work 1:1 or in small groups and adapt resources to individual targets.

You will collaborate with teachers and the SENDCo to implement proven strategies, monitor progress, and support wellbeing and inclusion throughout the school day. DBS and references required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND, including autism, ADHD or language needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 or in small groups and adapt strategies.
• Calm, empathetic and resilient approach to teen learners.
• Strong communication and collaboration with staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support based on individual needs and EHCP targets.
• Adapt learning materials to meet diverse styles and levels.
• Support communication, emotional regulation, and independent learning.
• Work with teaching staff and SENDCo to implement engagement strategies.
• Supervise students during breaks to ensure wellbeing and inclusion.
