Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Lead Designate to join the Royal Navy Training & Simulation Programme in Bristol with occasional travel to Portsmouth. This hands-on role transitions you into a Technical Lead while remaining actively involved in engineering delivery and integration work.

You will work with a small team of four engineers, provide technical guidance across systems engineering, integration and testing, participate in reviews and demonstrations, and help

Qualifications

Strong systems engineering background.
Experience delivering complex systems or technical solutions.
Experience across the engineering lifecycle, including integration and testing.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable: defence/naval/aerospace or other regulated industry experience.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of complex training and simulation systems.
Provide technical guidance across systems engineering, integration, and testing activities.
Work closely with project teams and customers to ensure successful delivery.
Support technical reviews, demonstrations, and acceptance activities.
Identify and manage technical risks and issues.
Contribute to solution development, integration, verification, and validation activities.
