Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specialized in the Public Sector, Defence and Defence Industrial Base to drive pre-sales for the UK & Ireland. You will communicate with government and defence stakeholders, translate needs into robust architectures, and enable partners to scale solutions across the defence market.

The role is remote-based with regular UK travel to meet customers and partners, including on-site visits to critical facilities.

Qualifications

10+ years in pre-sales, systems engineering, or solution architecture in tech.
Experience with public sector, defence, or defence industrial base customers preferred.
Strong storage fundamentals; familiarity with block, file, and object storage.
Ability to engage with senior government and defence stakeholders.
UK security vetting and travel across the UK and Ireland expected.

Responsibilities

Lead technical pre-sales activities for public sector and defence accounts.
Collaborate with account executives and partners to position solutions.
Translate requirements into architectures, sizing, quotes and concepts.
Run presentations, demos, workshops, and on-site sessions across the UK & Ireland.
Mentor and coach junior SEs in the team and channels.
Ensure alignment with security, accreditation, and compliance needs.
