Job summary

Archangel Lightworks, based in Oxford, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to define architecture, requirements and integration for Optical Ground Stations and related products. You will lead design, verification, and deployment, coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and customers to ensure interoperability and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering of complex, high-performance systems.
• Hands-on skills to operate and test systems and demos.
• Knowledge of MBSE, SysML and tool support such as Enterprise Architect.
• Experience across full engineering lifecycle from requirements through production.
• Strong problem solving and cross-disciplinary collaboration abilities.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers and coordinate with partners.

Responsibilities

• Own systems or subsystems, leading specification and verification as primary technical contact for partners.
• Identify and address risks and issues within allocated systems.
• Create and maintain designs, requirements, models and documentation for performance and interoperability.
• Plan and execute verification, qualification, and demonstrations per internal/external standards.
• Develop, maintain and review system documentation, ICDs, procedures and budgets.
• Lead sprint planning and manage Agile workflows; coordinate subsystem development and supplier activities.
• Promote MBSE and tool support across the engineering team.
