Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems UK in Hastings is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own MBSE-driven development of VPX processor-based cards across defence projects. You will establish SysMLv2 requirements models, manage the V&V cycle with full traceability, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to ensure seamless integration and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in systems engineering with a focus on processor or hardware design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CAD tools, simulation software, and technical modelling platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of processor architectures and system-level design principles.
• Experience with hardware validation, testing methodologies, and performance analysis.
• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish SysMLv2 requirements models for new processor-based card developments with traceability.
• Own the Verification & Validation cycle with full sign-off against requirements.
• Collaborate across mechanical, hardware, firmware, and software teams for integration.
• Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers in MBSE practices.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including SysMLv2 models and diagrams.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
