Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems UK is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own the Core Technologies VPX processor-card portfolio, guiding architecture and MBSE adoption for defence programmes. You will champion MBSE, establish SysMLv2 models and oversee cross-disciplinary work across mechanical, hardware, firmware and software teams.

You will lead V&V planning, develop and maintain design documentation, and ensure traceability from requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in systems engineering with a focus on processor or hardware design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Knowledge of processor architectures and system-level design principles.
• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish and build SysMLv2 requirements models for new processor-based card developments, ensuring traceability.
• Own the Verification & Validation (V&V) cycle with comprehensive test planning and sign-off.
• Collaborate with mechanical, hardware, firmware and software teams for seamless integration and MBSE adoption.
• Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers in traditional and model-based systems engineering.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements for defence applications.
