Job summary

Free-Work in Thornbury, near Bristol, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead technically complex client work across defence, nuclear, space and other regulated environments. Hybrid working with on-site presence three days a week is included.

You will independently lead engagements, shape systems engineering strategies and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, while supporting professional accreditation and career progression.

Qualifications

• Extensive systems engineering lifecycle experience.
• Experience in defence, nuclear, aerospace or regulated sectors.
• Ability to lead technical work and resolve ambiguous client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing systems engineering across complex programmes.
• Shape concept studies, requirements, architecture and development strategies.
• Own work packages, delivery plans and senior stakeholder relationships.
• Mentor developing systems engineers and consultants.
