Job summary

PE Global is recruiting for an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our MSD client in Cambourne, UK. The initial 24-month contract offers hourly rates of £31 PAYE or £41.90 Umbrella.

The role covers requirements definition, IoT device integration, and leading R&D workstreams across disciplines, with a hands-on engineering approach. Hybrid onsite 2 days per week in Cambourne; some travel may be required. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Systems Engineering.
• Experience with embedded systems, RF, IoT.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork.
• Experience with Linux, Atlassian or Azure DevOps advantageous.
• Proficiency in C, C#, Java or Python advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage requirements across the product lifecycle.
• Contribute to design and development of IoT solutions.
• Define technical protocols and support system architecture and integration activities.
• Lead technical workstreams within multidisciplinary R&D projects.
• Provide technical problem solving and develop proofs-of-concept solutions.
• Support testing, investigations and field testing activities.
• Work with System Engineers, Embedded Software, Hardware, Integration and Backend/Frontend teams.
• Deliver solutions within Product and Platform teams.
• Support development and delivery of connected device products from discovery to delivery.
