Job summary

LEGO Digital Play in London is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer to design and build high-performance content-processing pipelines at the trust layer of our technology.

You will own responsibilities from content hashing and tamper-evident provenance to ML integration and cloud deployment, collaborating with security, compliance and infrastructure teams to scale across the platform while preserving memory, latency, and safety.

Qualifications

• Production C++ or Rust experience in a performance-sensitive context.
• Experience building data-processing services with profiling and benchmarking.
• Knowledge of async I/O, thread-pool design, and lock-free structures.
• Security engineering focus: input validation and memory safety.
• Ability to document interfaces and explain trade-offs to non-specialists.
• Comfort across the stack from low-level design to cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance content-processing services in C++ or Rust.
• Build the provenance layer with cryptographic components.
• Build automated content-safety processing at the data path.
• Define performance envelope, profile and optimise hot paths.
• Collaborate with security and compliance for COPPA, GDPR obligations.
• Work with infra on deployment, containerisation and scaling.
• Define interfaces for ML inference outputs.
• Produce component documentation and integration guidance.
