Job description

Job Title: Senior Syndicate Accountant

HFG is currently collaborating with a leading London insurer to find their next Senior Syndicate Accountant. The role involves performing monthly accounting close functions, applying accounting policies, and presenting financial results to senior management. Additionally, the role supports the production of regulatory reports based on UK GAAP and Solvency II standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage two direct reports to ensure accurate completion of general ledger and reconciliation work.
2. Prepare, review, and submit external regulatory reports, internal management reports, and 'Group' reports.
3. Complete Lloyd's reporting requirements, including QMA, QMB, QF1, GQD, TPD, TRIA, NAIC, and US SITUS reporting.
4. Prepare statutory accounts and underwriting year accounts.
5. Assist in the completion of Solvency II reporting, including QSR, QAD, and ASR reports.

Profile:

• Knowledge of financial reporting requirements, GAAP, and Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Experience with Lloyd's and other UK regulatory reporting for specialty insurance.
• Ability to understand and apply financial reporting practices and procedures, and implement internal control processes.
• Solid understanding of the month-end close process and account analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
