King's College London seeks a Senior Sustainability Engagement Officer to help drive climate initiatives. This role involves planning engagement activities, supporting projects related to sustainability strategies, and fostering collaboration across the university. About Us:
King's Climate & Sustainability (KCS) is a three-year transformation programme to drive forward the pace of research, education and action at King's to accelerate the transition to environmental sustainability.
You'll join a friendly and highly collaborative team of 12 colleagues, led by Professor Frans Berkhout (Assistant Principal, King's Climate & Sustainability) and Rosie Smith (Programme Director, King's Climate & Sustainability), working to embed climate and sustainability into everything we do at King's. To deliver this university-wide priority, we collaborate with colleagues across our faculties and directorates, particularly within the Directorate of Estates & Facilities, who enable operational change, and our Staff Sustainability Champions.
About the Role:
The Senior Sustainability Engagement Officer is responsible for supporting the engagement aspects of this strategic priority for King's. Key responsibilities include contributing to the development of an engagement plan and associated activities, supporting projects related to the King's Climate & Sustainability Action Plan and new sustainability strategy, leading the Sustainability Champions Network and engaging with students, staff and external partners to champion sustainability.
This post requires a motivated and highly collaborative individual who is passionate about making a difference to climate and sustainability. The successful candidate will have knowledge of climate and sustainability issues, and experience of engagement activities, managing projects, contributing to the development of plans and supporting events. This role allows the post-holder to develop their skills and gain experience as a sustainability professional, while contributing to a vibrant and inclusive sustainability culture at King's.
The role holder is expected to be on campus for 3-5 days a week to attend events and to build relationships with colleagues based across our London campuses.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
