Job summary

Harlow District Council is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to lead surveying projects from conception to delivery, ensuring quality, timeliness and budget compliance. The role requires hands-on management and the ability to mentor junior surveyors.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Surveying, have at least five years of professional experience, and ideally MRICS or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Surveying or related field.
• 5+ years of professional surveying experience with project management.
• Proficiency in surveying instruments and software (GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD, GIS).
• MRICS, RICS or equivalent certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with client relations.
• Leadership experience supervising teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute surveying projects from planning to delivery.
• Conduct land, boundary, topographical, and construction surveys.
• Prepare survey reports, drawings and maps to meet requirements.
• Liaise with clients to understand project needs and deliver outcomes.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior surveyors.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety and quality standards.
