Job summary

Survey Solutions is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our experienced surveying team at the SurvaTec office near Colchester. You will supervise a team of surveyors and Trainee staff, and help ensure projects are completed on time to high technical standards.

The role involves leading large-scale topographical and measured building surveys, using traditional methods and 3D scanners, with opportunity for professional development and accreditation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Land & Measured Building Surveyor at Senior/Experienced level.
• Proficient with total stations, laser scanners, GPS, LisCAD, N4CE, AutoCAD.
• GCSEs including Maths and English, Grade C/4 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a surveying team.
• Prepare and run development days for Surveyors and Trainee staff.
• Support and deputise for the Survey Manager; cover client quotations and team briefings.
• Complete large-scale topographical surveys to a high standard.
• Carry out full measured building surveys with floor plans, elevations and sections using traditional methods and 3D scanners.

Job description

We are the UK’s largest engineering surveyors, looking to appoint a Senior Surveyor to join Survey Solutions’ experienced surveying team in our SurvaTec office near Colchester.

As a Senior Land Surveyor you will play an important role supervising a team of surveyors and Trainee staff. You will work closely to support the office Survey Manager, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the company’s high technical standards. You will be responsible for leading a variety of large-scale, complex land and measured building survey projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to complete training days with field based staff.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Surveyor, you will:

• Supervise and mentor a dedicated surveying team
• Prepare and run development days for Surveyors and Trainee/Juniors
• Support and deputise for the Survey Manager when required, including; holiday cover for client quotations, leading team briefings and individual job briefings
• Complete complex and large-scale topographical surveys to a high standard
• Complete a full measured building surveys with floor plans, elevations and sections; using a combination of traditional methods and 3D scanners to a high standard.
• Take the lead on large complex projects topographical and measured building surveying projects
• Provide technical support to the surveying team
• Approving jobs from the surveying team before they are sent to clients

The Person

• Previous experience working as a Land & Measured Building Surveyor, in a Senior Surveyor or Experienced Surveyor role
• Previous experience completing training days with surveyors of various levels
• Proficient using total stations, laser scanners, GPS, LisCAD, N4CE, AutoCAD equipment and software
• Able to lead large complex topographical and measured building survey projects
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet key deadlines
• Professional and approachable manner with excellent communication skills
• Able to confidently provide expert advice, feedback and technical support to surveyors and CAD operators on office and site activities
• Passionate about pursuing a long-term career with Survey Solutions
• A minimum of 5 GCSE's including Maths & English to Grade C level/ Grade 4
• Full UK driving licence.
• Able to commute to our Manchester office
• Right to work in the UK

We have a network of ten offices with our teams of surveyors and engineers working on some of the UK’s major construction and infrastructure developments.

This is a full-time role with office hours of Monday to Friday from 8.00-5.00, however site hours will vary so overtime and occasional weekend working will be required.
