Job summary

Carter Jonas are seeking a MRICS-qualified Senior Surveyor to join our Infrastructure team in Birmingham, delivering advice on compulsory purchase, compensation, utilities and land rights on major UK projects.

You will build relationships with clients, manage own projects, mentor graduates and support senior colleagues while delivering high-quality professional services in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification or equivalent professional status is required.
• Post-qualification surveying experience (2+ years) is desirable.
• Strong client and stakeholder management and report-writing abilities.
• Experience mentoring Graduate Surveyors and junior colleagues is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional advice on valuation, acquisition and disposal of land and rights for major infrastructure projects.
• Deliver compulsory purchase, compensation, utilities and land rights work for clients.
• Prepare valuation reports in line with RICS Valuation Standards.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing professional advice on the valuation, acquisition and disposal of land and rights for major infrastructure projects.
• Delivering compulsory purchase and compensation, utilities and land rights, valuation and negotiation work on behalf of clients.
• Preparing valuation reports in accordance with RICS Valuation Standards.
• Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Managing your own projects and workload while supporting senior colleagues on larger instructions.
• Supervising and mentoring Graduate Surveyors and other junior team members.
• Contributing to business development and identifying opportunities to grow client relationships.
• Ensuring all work is delivered in line with relevant legislation, professional standards and best practice.

What We're Looking For

You'll be an MRICS-qualified Surveyor and Registered Valuer with at least two years' post-qualification experience.

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

• Compulsory purchase and compensation.
• Utilities and land rights work.
• Valuation and negotiation.
• Managing complex stakeholder relationships.
• Delivering high-quality professional advice to clients.

You will also have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
