Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Senior Surveyor in the Valuation & Advisory team (Residential Development) based in Birmingham. The role leads valuations of development sites, providing strategic advice to developers, investors and lenders across the UK.

You will prepare detailed loan security reports, conduct viability assessments and mentor junior colleagues while supporting business development across high-profile projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Real Estate or related discipline.
  • MRICS qualification or working towards MRICS.
  • Strong experience in residential development valuations.
  • Advanced financial modelling and appraisal skills.
  • Proven client-facing and project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK residential development market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead valuations of residential development sites in line with RICS standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports for loan security, financial reporting and development appraisals.
  • Undertake residual land valuations and viability assessments.
  • Analyse market trends including sales values, build costs and planning considerations.
  • Manage client relationships and lead instructions.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.
  • Contribute to business development and winning new work.

Job Title: Senior Surveyor – Valuation & Advisory (Residential Development) Location: Birmigham
Role Overview

A senior role within the Valuation & Advisory team specialising in residential development. You will lead valuations and provide strategic advice on development sites, supporting major developers, investors, and lenders across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead valuations of residential development sites in accordance with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors standards
  • Prepare detailed reports for loan security, financial reporting, and development appraisals
  • Undertake residual land valuations and viability assessments
  • Analyse market trends including sales values, build costs, and planning considerations
  • Manage client relationships and take a lead role in instructions
  • Support and mentor junior team members
  • Contribute to business development and winning new work
Key Requirements
