Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Senior Surveyor – Valuation & Advisory (Residential Development) in Birmingham. You will lead valuations for development sites and provide strategic guidance to developers, investors and lenders across the UK.

You will manage client relationships, drive reports for loans and development appraisals, and mentor junior staff while contributing to business development within a global advisory platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate or related discipline.
• MRICS qualification or equivalent.
• Strong experience in residential development valuation.
• Advanced financial modelling and appraisal skills.
• Proven client-facing and project management experience.
• Knowledge of UK residential development market.

Responsibilities

• Lead valuations of residential development sites in accordance with RICS standards.
• Prepare detailed reports for loan security, financial reporting, and development appraisals.
• Undertake residual land valuations and viability assessments.

A senior role within the Valuation & Advisory team specialising in residential development. You will lead valuations and provide strategic advice on development sites, supporting major developers, investors, and lenders across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead valuations of residential development sites in accordance with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors standards
• Prepare detailed reports for loan security, financial reporting, and development appraisals
• Undertake residual land valuations and viability assessments
• Analyse market trends including sales values, build costs, and planning considerations
• Manage client relationships and take a lead role in instructions
• Support and mentor junior team members
• Contribute to business development and winning new work

Key Requirements

• Degree in Real Estate or related discipline
