Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join the surgical pharmacy team. You will dispensing discharge prescriptions on the wards and support with checks on patients’ own medicines, ward stock and medication returns.

The role involves working alongside Specialist Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians to support patient flow, gain experience in teaching opportunities, and contribute to ward audits and top-ups.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting as a SATO or similar role.
• Ability to dispense discharge prescriptions on the wards.
• Experience with checking patients’ own medicines and ward stock management.

Responsibilities

• Dispense discharge medications on the ward using mobile dispensing station.
• Process medication returns from surgical wards.
• Check patients' own medicines for suitability for use.
• Order and supply medications for individual patients and ward stock.
