Job summary

Assystem is seeking an experienced surface water consultant/hydrologist to join our Environmental Consents & Engagement practice and support the Sizewell C project in the UK. You will provide technical oversight of surface water management across construction activities, working with multidisciplinary teams to align drainage and environmental requirements.

• Experience of managing or reviewing surface water issues on complex infrastructure or construction projects.
• Ability to review complex technical information from multiple disciplines.
• Pragmatic problem solver balancing engineering and environmental requirements.
• Ability to build strong working relationships across design, construction and environmental teams.
• Organised, proactive in a fast-paced project environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing technical reports and design information relating to surface water management.
• Assessing proposed drainage, attenuation and discharge solutions.
• Supporting management of surface water across natural and engineered drainage systems.
• Reviewing water quality information and environmental monitoring results.
• Advising on monitoring approaches for water quality and discharge.
• Supporting technical review of environmental permits and consents.
• Working with environmental, engineering and construction teams for coordinated water management.
• Responding to issues during construction and developing risk-based solutions.
• Providing technical feedback to design and project teams.
• Identifying inconsistencies, risks and improvement opportunities.
