Job summary

United Response is seeking a Senior Support Worker / Assistant Service Manager (Female only) in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role combines frontline support (30 hours on rota) with leadership duties (7.5 hours off rota) to help manage a service for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.

A strong leadership path to Registered Manager is offered with full training and mentoring. The package includes a competitive hourly rate (£14.75/hr) and a £28,800 per year equivalent,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or working towards it.
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.
• Strong frontline experience with a leadership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred support on shift as a positive role model.
• Lead, supervise and mentor the support worker team.
• Support rota planning, handovers and day-to-day operations.
• Assist safeguarding, risk management and CQC compliance standards.
• Build positive relationships with families, professionals and stakeholders.
• Participate in an on-call rota.
