Job summary

New Chapters in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a full-time Senior Support Worker to lead a team in a supported living setting. You will supervise daily operations, mentor staff, and support with audits to ensure quality care for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs.

The role offers a 40-hour week, with potential overtime or sleep-ins, and a competitive £13.75 per hour rate. Visa sponsorship is not available and driving is not required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior support worker in a supported living setting.
• Ability to mentor and guide team members.
• Calm, empathetic and level-headed in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and listening skills for diverse communication methods.
• Good basic English literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the effective running of the service when management are away.
• Educate, inform, train and mentor new and existing team members.
• Support with auditing processes.
