Job summary

Iris Care Group is launching a brand-new service at 187 Whitworth Road in Swindon and seeks a Senior Support Worker to lead the team from day one. You will deliver person-centred care to individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, championing the Building Better Lives framework, and supporting medication processes.

The role blends hands-on support with leadership duties, including supervising staff, rota management, and ensuring high care standards from the start.

Qualifications

  • Essential: QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Essential: Caring, reliable and empathetic values.
  • Essential: Good communication and basic IT skills.
  • Essential: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Essential: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual goals and Positive Behaviour Support plans.
  • Support the Registered/Home Manager with delegated supervisory duties.
  • Complete staff supervisions and appraisals.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire less experienced colleagues.
  • Manage and upload rotas to maintain safe staffing levels.
  • Administer and audit medication in line with policy.
  • Promote independence, life skills, and community engagement.
  • Act as a keyworker, completing monthly reviews and advocating for individuals.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
  • Work flexibly across the service as required.
