Position: Senior Support Worker at Bobbins, Swindon

At Bobbins, we provide residential supported living care to children with severe physical or learning disabilities, including autism. Supported by a highly trained staff team, the children are encouraged to strive for independence, tailored to each individual.

What You'll Be Working

We offer flexible hours. If you're looking for full-time work, your schedule will be based on a rota, working every other weekend.

• On-call duties
• Full-time, 42 hours per week
• Working every other weekend
• Sleep-ins

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting clients with daily activities
• Leading shifts effectively by maintaining appropriate staffing levels
• Supporting care plans to establish routines
• Ensuring service users have up-to-date risk assessments and person-centered plans, reviewing and updating as needed
• Creating a safe and stable environment for clients
• Providing personal care*
• Working on the floors as needed to meet service needs
• Participating in the on-call team
• Completing mandatory training
• Administering medication if required
• Supporting clients with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids such as hoists, wheelchairs, and modified bathing equipment

What You'll Have

• Strong organizational, time management, planning, and communication skills
• Flexible, professional, and positive attitude towards multi-site working
• Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards
• Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Self-confidence and ability to handle challenging situations
• Driving license preferred
• Ability to address and resolve employee issues fairly and consistently
