Role Responsibility

At Turning Point, we support people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Autism across England.

We are recruiting a Senior Support Worker for a new service in Sandwich supporting adults with diagnoses in Autism, Mental Health, and learning disabilities to transition into the community.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will make a real difference in people's lives. If you are passionate about supporting people, you will enjoy the scope of this role, which includes line management duties alongside supporting individuals, while enhancing your own life and career through experience and training.

The Senior Support Worker supports the management team in supervising the Support Worker team daily, ensuring new staff are inducted properly and operate as competent employees. You will inspire and lead a team to provide high-quality support and achieve positive outcomes.

You will take responsibility as the senior person on duty, modeling good practice within the team to ensure high-quality service delivery.

This role is hands-on! You will support people with daily activities, including mental health appointments, community participation, home and tenancy management, medical needs, and daily living tasks.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have Support Worker experience within a Learning Disability, Autism, or Mental Health setting.

You will also be:

  • Patient, understanding, and kind.
  • Motivated to support people towards their goals.
  • Mindful of language, non-judgemental, and able to maintain boundaries.
  • Able to support people in difficult times and respond appropriately to changes.
  • Willing to work alongside specialists in multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, probation officers, occupational therapists, social workers, and more.
