Job summary

CS UK Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Support Worker to provide high quality, person-centered support for a young individual with complex care needs in a residential setting in West Bromwich, West Midlands. You will lead the team on duty, organize daily routines, and ensure safety and smooth operation of the home.

The role requires an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care and experience in similar roles.

Qualifications

• Must hold an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care and experience in a similar role.
• Experience in complex care or similar environment desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with individuals and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead the small team on duty, organize the daily routine, and ensure the home runs smoothly and safely.
• Use positive support and calm de-escalation techniques to handle difficult situations and intense behaviours.
• Put the young person's daily care and support plans into action, focusing on complex needs.
• Write accurate daily logs, incident reports, and safely manage and administer medication.
• Coordinate with social workers, therapists, and the family on a regular basis.
• Plan activities to help the young person learn new skills and gain independence.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a committed Senior Support Worker to provide high quality, person centered support to a young individual with complex care and support needs within a residential care setting in West Bromwich, West Midlands area. You will be working for one of UK’s leading children’s healthcare providers

We are looking for people who genuinely want to make a positive difference to the life of the individual they support. The right person will be patient, understanding and willing to build a trusting relationship, while being there for the individual through both their good and more challenging days

As a Senior Support Worker your key duties include:

• Lead the small team on duty, organize the daily routine, and make sure the home runs smoothly and safely
• Use positive support and calm de-escalation techniques to safely handle difficult situations and intense behaviours
• Put the young person's daily care and support plans into action, focusing on their specific complex needs
• Write accurate daily logs, fill out incident reports, and safely manage and administer medication
• Speak and coordinate regularly with social workers, therapists, and the young person's family
• Plan fun, everyday activities that help the young person learn new skills, gain independence, and thrive

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Previous experience in complex care, homecare, supported living, residential care, nursing care or a similar environment is desirable
• Experience supporting individuals with complex care or support needs
• A caring, compassionate and patient approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build professional and trusting relationships with individuals and their families

**To be considered for this position you must hold an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care + experience working in a similar role and setting**

The successful Senior Support Worker will receive an excellent salary of £28,080 - £37,440 per annum - Pay frequency is monthly. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 36-48 hours a week on days & nights. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
