Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a committed Senior Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centered support for a young individual with complex care needs in a residential setting in Oldbury, West Midlands.

You will join a leading UK children's healthcare provider with opportunities to contribute to care planning, medication administration, and family collaboration, while supporting growth and independence for the young person.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care required.
• Experience in a similar role desirable.
• Willingness to work days and nights and adapt to a residential care setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the on-duty team to organise the daily routine and ensure the home runs smoothly and safely.
• Use positive support and calm de-escalation techniques to handle challenging behaviours.
• Put the young person’s daily care and support plans into action, focusing on complex needs.
• Write accurate daily logs, incident reports and safely manage and administer medication.
• Coordinate with social workers, therapists and the young person’s family.
• Plan engaging activities to promote skills, independence and thriving.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a committed Senior Support Worker to provide high quality, person centered support to a young individual with complex care and support needs within a residential care setting in Oldbury, West Midlands area.You will be working for one of UK's leading children's healthcare providers

We are looking for people who genuinely want to make a positive difference to the life of the individual they support.The right person will be patient, understanding and willing to build a trusting relationship, while being there for the individual through both their good and more challenging days

As a Senior Support Worker your key duties include:

• Lead the small team on duty, organize the daily routine, and make sure the home runs smoothly and safely
• Use positive support and calm de-escalation techniques to safely handle difficult situations and intense behaviours
• Put the young person's daily care and support plans into action, focusing on their specific complex needs
• Write accurate daily logs, fill out incident reports, and safely manage and administer medication
• Speak and coordinate regularly with social workers, therapists, and the young person's family
• Plan fun, everyday activities that help the young person learn new skills, gain independence, and thrive

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Previous experience in complex care, homecare, supported living, residential care, nursing care or a similar environment is desirable
• Experience supporting individuals with complex care or support needs
• A caring, compassionate and patient approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build professional and trusting relationships with individuals and their families

**To be considered for this position you must hold an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care + experience working in a similar role and setting**

The successful Senior Support Worker will receive an excellent salary of £28,080 - £37,440 per annum.This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 36-48 hours a week on days & nights.In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
