Position: Senior Support Worker at Murdostoun, Newmains, Wishaw

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker at our specialist brain injury and neurological care service in Newmains, Wishaw.

We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from brain injuries, aiming for the best outcomes in independence and quality of life.

Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre cares for up to 46 residents. Facilities include a minibus for appointments and outings, a state-of-the-art therapy pool, a specially designed therapy kitchen, and a gymnasium to promote activity and socialisation.

We are proud to be accredited as an approved provider of Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.

What you'll be working:
  • Full-time hours: 38.5 hours per week
What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting clients with daily activities
  • Leading shifts by maintaining appropriate staffing levels
  • Supporting care plans and establishing routines
  • Updating risk assessments and person-centred plans in collaboration with the service manager
  • Ensuring clients feel safe and secure
  • Providing personal care as needed
  • Covering all aspects of the support worker role on the floors
  • Attending mandatory training
  • Administering medication, if required
  • Supporting clients with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids
What you'll have:
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible and professional attitude towards multi-site working
  • Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards
  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-confidence and resilience in challenging situations
  • Driving license (preferable)
  • Ability to handle employee issues fairly and consistently
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (required)
