Job Description
Do you have experience supporting people who have learning disabilities? Could you help lead a team whilst supporting people with learning disabilities?
We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our Milton Keynes team. You will be working across our supported living and outreach services.
The people who draw on our support enjoy a busy social calendar, including various activities like bowling, singing and gardening! We strongly believe that good support doesn't stop at the walls of our premises but needs to involve engagement with the community. A key part of your role will be to develop our ‘Everyone Everywhere’ initiative, which entails growing the community’s awareness of MacIntyre and what we do.
We need someone to help the individuals be active members of their local community promoting independence whilst recognising and reacting to changes in health needs for the people in these services.
As a senior support worker, you’ll develop rotas and work with the frontline manager to ensure a high standard of practice in the service. You will supervise the staff team, leading by example and identify training needs, whether that’s formally or by way of day-to-day coaching and reflection.
This role is 37.5 hours a week working on a rota that consists of shifts covering 07:30 to 15:00 and 14:30 to 22:00, including weekends, bank holidays and sleep ins.
About You
This role would suit someone who is passionate about supporting others; expressing new and creative ideas and who has a kind and caring nature.
