Job title: Senior Support Worker

Location: Newham

Salary: £12.81 per hour

Shifts: 7.30am-3pm & 3pm-10pm

Role: Permanent Full Time 37.5 hours

Experience: 12 months in a similar role

Overview

To lead as a Senior Support Worker in providing support, acting as a key worker when appropriate, and taking personal responsibility for managing emergency or complex situations. To deliver high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individuals’ needs and wishes.

The manager seeks an experienced Senior Support Worker with proven skills in challenging environments, including:

1. Leadership—demonstrated initiative through leading projects or activities.
2. Supporting individuals towards goals and positive outcomes, evidenced through key working or achievements.
3. Understanding of regulatory frameworks, safeguarding, Health & Safety, CQC inspections, and relevant legislation.
4. Teamwork—effective conflict management, challenging bad practices, and motivating others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of Person Centred Plans.
• Act as a key worker for individuals where appropriate.
• Manage emergency or complex situations proactively.
• Support individuals in daily living, personal care, and community activities, including employment and education.
• Maintain accurate records related to individuals’ lives, services, and finances.
• Assist with risk assessments and contribute to reviews to ensure safety and well-being.
• Coordinate with external parties, carers, and families as needed.
• Supervise other Support Workers when required.
• Perform additional duties consistent with the role’s responsibilities.
