Job summary

Voyage Care in Langport is seeking a Senior Support Worker to lead our residential service, helping people gain independence and supporting the manager with daily supervision. The role is based on typical shifts 08:00–20:30, three shifts per week including alternate weekends, with enhanced pay for evenings and weekends.

Ideal candidates will have Senior experience, Level 3 Health & Social Care, and experience with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and complex needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker
• Level 3 in Health & Social Care
• Experience with behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism and complex needs

Responsibilities

• Support the manager with day-to-day supervision and management of the residential service
• Allocate shifts and book training for staff
• Induct new colleagues and support with supervisions
• Order medication and help residents manage finances
• Ensure people receive high-quality daily support and independence

Senior Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support are at the heart of our management teams. We’re currently searching for a fantastic Senior Support Worker to join us in leading our residential service in Langport. Looking out over the Somerset levels, this beautiful old house has a warm and welcoming feel about it. Family orientated, we enable individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and complex care needs including visual impairments.

As a Senior Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst assisting the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service. You could be allocating shifts, booking in training, inducting new colleagues, supporting with supervision’s, ordering medication and ensuring the people we support are supported to manage their finances. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Seniors are still at the heart of providing day-to-day support.

We’re interested in our Senior Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Seniors should have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, acquired brain injury, autism and people who have experienced trauma.
