Job summary

Heathy House in Halifax seeks a Senior Mental Health Support Worker to lead care delivery for men with enduring mental health needs. You’ll mentor Recovery Support Workers, guide daily living support, and promote recovery-focused practices in a structured home environment.

The role offers day shifts (7:30am–7:45pm), a 39.37-hour week, and enhanced overtime rates with a weekly on-call allowance. Join a team dedicated to improving lives through compassionate, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Experience working within mental health services.
• Understanding of care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead by example and support colleagues.
• Commitment to recovery-focused and person-centred practice.
• Right to Work in the UK for a minimum of 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living skills, independence and recovery goals.
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support.
• Administer and manage medication safely and accurately.
• Complete care records, risk assessments, and documentation to a high standard.
• Support and supervise Recovery Support Workers on shift.
• Act as a senior contact in the absence of management.
• Contribute to positive risk-taking and recovery-focused interventions.
• Encourage social inclusion, wellbeing and engagement in meaningful activities.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to achieve residents' outcomes.
• Support induction and development of new team members.

About The Role

As a Senior Mental Health Support Worker, you'll be a key member of the team, leading by example and helping to create a positive, therapeutic environment where residents can thrive.

You’ll support people with complex mental health needs while also providing guidance and mentoring to Recovery Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care are delivered consistently.

Your Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
• Support the induction and development of new team members.
