Job summary

Active Pathways is seeking a Senior Mental Health Support Worker (Days) at Heathy House, Halifax. You’ll lead by example, support residents with complex mental health needs, and mentor Recovery Support Workers to maintain high standards of care.

The role includes line management on shift, contributing to recovery-focused interventions and social inclusion while delivering person-centred services in a structured, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working within mental health services.
• Understanding of care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead by example and support colleagues.
• Commitment to recovery-focused and person-centred practice.
• Right to Work in the UK for a minimum of 18 months from your agreed start date.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living skills, independence, and recovery goals.
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support.
• Administer and manage medication safely and accurately.
• Complete care records, risk assessments, and documentation to a high standard.
• Support and supervise Recovery Support Workers on shift.
• Act as a senior point of contact in the absence of management.
• Contribute to positive risk-taking and recovery-focused interventions.
• Encourage social inclusion, wellbeing, and engagement in meaningful activities.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
• Support the induction and development of new team members.

Day Shifts: 7:30am - 7:45pm

• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
• Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

About The Role

As a Senior Mental Health Support Worker, you'll be a key member of the team, leading by example and helping to create a positive, therapeutic environment where residents can thrive.

You’ll support people with complex mental health needs while also providing guidance and mentoring to Recovery Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care are delivered consistently.
