Job summary

We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionateSenior Support Workersto join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to adults within care and supported living services.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play an important role in supporting service users while also providing guidance and leadership to other members of the support team. You may be required to take responsibility for coordinating shifts and ensuring that high standards of care are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care and support to adults.
• Support service users with personal care and daily living activities.
• Promote independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.
• Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and support plans.
• Coordinate and support the team during shifts.
• Allocate duties to Support Workers where required.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and support to less experienced staff.
• Ensure care documentation and daily records are completed accurately.
• Support medication procedures in accordance with training and company policies.
• Recognise and report safeguarding concerns.
• Respond appropriately to incidents and elevate concerns to management.
• Complete effective handovers and communicate important information to colleagues.
• Maintain a safe, clean and supportive environment.
• Work collaboratively with management, colleagues, families and other professionals.

About You

We are looking for individuals who are:

• Experienced within adult health and social care.
• Confident working in a senior or leadership capacity.
• Compassionate, reliable and professional.
• Able to lead and support a team.
• Confident dealing with challenging situations.
• Able to work independently and use initiative.
• Committed to providing person-centred care.
• Able to communicate effectively with service users, colleagues and professionals.
• Flexible and willing to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Previous experience working within adult social care.
• Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care.
• Ability to follow care plans and risk assessments.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to complete mandatory and role-specific training.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Satisfactory DBS check.
• Satisfactory employment references.

A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent is essential.
