Job summary

Manuella Care is seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high quality, person-centred care to our service users in Wembley and surrounding areas.

You will assist with personal care, meals, mobility and daily living activities, while promoting independence, dignity and choice in line with individual care plans. All posts require completion of training, DBS checks, and adherence to safeguarding and reporting procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a care environment.
  • Male and female applicants welcome.
  • Right to work in the UK and valid driving licence/desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, respectful and person-centred care and support
  • Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care
  • Support with meals, hydration, mobility and daily living activities
  • Promote independence, dignity, choice and participation in everyday activities
  • Support with medication in line with company procedures and training
  • Follow care plans and risk assessments
  • Observe and report changes in health, behaviour or wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate care records and daily notes
  • Complete handovers and communicate with families and healthcare professionals
  • Report safeguarding concerns, accidents and unsafe practices promptly
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Follow infection prevention, health and safety and moving and handling procedures
  • Attend mandatory training, supervision, appraisals and team meetings
  • Work flexibly in line with rota and service needs

Job description

We are looking for compassionate, reliable and committed Support Workers to provide high quality, person centred care and support to our service users.

You will support individuals to maintain their independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing while delivering care in accordance with their care plans, risk assessments and individual needs.

Hours:

Full time only, 12 hour shifts, including weekends

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe, respectful and personcentred care and support
  • Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting and continence care where required
  • Support service users with meals, hydration, mobility and daily living activities
  • Promote independence, dignity, choice and participation in everyday activities
  • Support with medication in line with company procedures and your level of training and competency
  • Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and agreed support arrangements
  • Observe and report changes in a service user's health, behaviour or wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate and timely care records, daily notes and other required documentation
  • Complete effective handovers and communicate appropriately with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals
  • Recognise and report safeguarding concerns, accidents, incidents and unsafe practices promptly
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Follow infection prevention and control, health and safety, moving and handling and other company procedures
  • Attend mandatory training, supervision, appraisals and team meetings as required
  • Work flexibly in accordance with the rota and the needs of the service
Person Specification:
  • Minimum of 6 months experience
  • Male and females are welcome to apply
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable depending on the service location
  • Is compassionate, patient, respectful and reliable
  • Has good verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Understands the importance of dignity, confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Is willing to undertake required training and competency assessments
  • Can work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays where required
  • Has the right to work in the UK
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care are essential
