Job summary

Voyage Care is seeking a Senior Support Worker in Dumfries to lead our supported living service. This role involves supervising a friendly team, helping people gain more independence, and supporting with shift allocation and training.

You will assist the manager daily, oversee medication ordering, and help individuals manage finances, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Senior Support Worker role or similar.
• Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification required.
• Ability to lead a team and supervise day-to-day service operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager with day-to-day supervision and management of the service.
• Allocate shifts and book training for staff.
• Induct new colleagues and support supervision.
• Order medication and help people manage finances.
• Ensure PVG checks and references are satisfactory.

We’re currently searching for a fantastic Senior Support Worker to join us in leading our supported living service in Dumfries. This service is a welcoming and friendly environment with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people!

As a Senior Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst assisting the Manager with the day-to-day supervision and management of the service. You could be allocating shifts, booking in training, inducting new colleagues, supporting with supervision’s, ordering medication and ensuring the people we support are supported to manage their finances. You’ll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Seniors are still at the heart of providing day-to-day support.

We’re interested in our Senior Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Seniors should have previous experience as a Senior Support Worker and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, acquired brain injury, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.
