Job summary

Service Care is recruiting a Senior Support Worker for Hull to provide direct, person-centred support for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will guide colleagues, manage high-acuity shifts (3:1/4:1/5:1) and lead de‑escalation efforts to maintain safe care.

You will implement Positive Behaviour Support plans, ensure least restrictive practices, and maintain accurate digital care records while supporting new staff through shadow shifts and competency development.

Qualifications

• Significant experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Experience with behaviours that challenge and physical aggression.
• Experience in high-acuity care environments (3:1, 4:1, 5:1).
• Experience using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and risk assessments.
• Strong record-keeping and safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support at home and in the community.
• Guide and support other Support Workers during shifts.
• Deploy staff within 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 arrangements.
• Lead during incidents, implement de-escalation strategies and ensure PBS plans are followed.
• Record incidents, safeguarding concerns and interventions accurately.
