Job overview
As a member of the Outpatients pharmacy team, you will contribute to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services; issuing prescriptions, giving advice where appropriate, working alongside Outpatient Pharmacy team to ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal and relevant operational parameters, in addition to the departmental procedures to meet the needs of our customers.
There will be a requirement to deputise in the absence of the Superintendent pharmacist so strong professional leadership and decision-making skills, as well as line management of junior staff will form core components of the role.
Main duties of the job
• Support the Outpatient multi-disciplinary teams and Trust services with effective pharmaceutical care and intervention when required for patients, specifically with regards to medicines supply and management.
• Monitoring key quality/performance indicators and service pressures and recommending/implementing actions to address them. Reporting on workforce requirements for meeting service demand.
• To support the Superintendent Pharmacist to lead, develop, deliver and evaluate the clinical pharmacy service.
• Involved in the day-to-day management of designated staff in the Outpatient pharmacy team. Responsible for staff supervision, managing attendance and performance, identifying and facilitating staff training needs.
