Job summary

New Chapters is seeking a Senior Support Worker in Almondsbury to lead the service with a 40-hour week, offering a rate of £14 per hour. The role supports a non-verbal autistic service user transitioning from youth services, with a focus on dignity and person-centered care.

You will supervise staff, develop care plans, and maintain records while fostering a friendly, professional environment and opportunities for overtime through shifts of 12–14 hours, including sleep-ins.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supported living setting is essential.
• Ability to supervise and mentor team members.
• Excellent communication and listening skills with diverse communicators.
• Calm, empathetic and professional under challenging behaviour.
• Good English literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the service when the management team are off-site.
• Educating, informing, training and mentoring staff as requested by management.
• Supporting auditing and quality assurance processes.
• Encouraging residents to participate in activities and pursue interests.
• Co-ordinating activities and appointments using personalised rotas.
