Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a senior Supply Chain & Procurement Manager for a Harwell, Oxfordshire role. You will lead and develop the UK supply chain and procurement function, driving strategy, processes and supplier networks to support growth.

Responsibilities include building a 3–5 year plan, leading the procurement team, and implementing strategic sourcing across categories while mitigating risks and enhancing ERP utilisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in supply chain, procurement or strategic sourcing in complex engineering environments.
• Proven leadership of procurement or supply chain teams.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own a 3–5 year supply chain strategy aligned with growth and programmes.
• Assess current operating model, processes and systems; define future structure for growth.
• Lead procurement and buying team with clear objectives and performance management.
• Develop strategic sourcing strategies across key categories and expenditure areas.
• Establish structured supplier segmentation and supplier-management framework.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single-source dependencies and long lead times.
• Develop supplier networks via dual sourcing, supplier development and partnerships.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, governance, ERP utilisation.
