Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust invites applications for a Superintendent Radiographer (Interventional Radiology) to lead the interventional imaging service at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. You will run the service, work with surgical and urology colleagues, and ensure safe, high-quality imaging.

You will mentor radiographers and students, manage staff and equipment, uphold radiation safety, and contribute to the Hospital Transformation Programme as the service evolves.

Qualifications

• Experience as a radiographer in interventional radiology.
• Ability to lead and develop radiography staff in a dynamic service.
• Commitment to radiation safety and patient protection.
• Experience working with surgical/urology teams in IR settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the interventional imaging service.
• Be actively involved in patient imaging, ensuring high-quality, safe results.
• Support, train and develop radiographers and students in the team.
• Help manage staff, equipment and workloads to maintain smooth service.
• Ensure radiation safety rules and Trust policies are followed.
• Provide leadership and drive service improvement; stand in for the Lead when needed.
