Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead high‑voltage substation and energy infrastructure construction on the EGL1 Project, initially in Durham. You will act as the Principal Contractor Site Manager, coordinating design teams, subcontractors, andField operations across live HV environments.

The role requires proven live HV transmission experience and SR163 authorisation, with SMSTS, First Aid, and IVMP training. Murphy offers strong benefits and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven background managing live HV transmission on substation infrastructure projects.
• SR163 site management authorisation is required.
• Hold Safety & Technical Tickets: SMSTS, First Aid at Work, TWC/TWS, IVMP training.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Principal Contractor and discharge duties under CDM 2015 as Site Manager.
• Manage RAMS, CPPs, site inductions, toolbox talks, safety audits and project H&S files.
• Oversee HV/substation site controls, temporary works, and live environment safety.
• Direct subcontractors, coordinate civil, electrical, and M&E activities, manage resources and logistics.
• Liaise with National Grid, design teams and engineers to resolve site issues.
