Murphy is seeking a Senior Site Manager (SR163) to lead high-voltage substation and energy infrastructure construction on the Electricity Transmission Project in Minety. Initially based from our Cardiff office with site travel across the UK, you will act as Principal Contractor Site Manager and ensure safe, compliant delivery.

You will manage CDM duties, CPPs, RAMS, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams while liaising with National Grid, design engineers and subcontractors.

Qualificações

• SR163 authorisation and NSI 6 & 8 competencies required.
• Proven background managing live HV transmission on substation infrastructure projects.
• Experience in health, safety and compliance under CDM Regulations 2015.

Responsabilidades

• Represent the Principal Contractor and discharge duties under CDM 2015 in the Site Manager role.
• Manage safety plans, RAMS, CPPs and CS safety procedures on live EHV/substation environments.
• Oversee daily civil, electrical, or M&E activities and coordinate subcontractors and resources.
• Act as primary liaison between National Grid, design teams, engineers and subcontractors to resolve site issues.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, safety inspections, audits and maintain project/H&S files.
• Draft and maintain risk assessments and method statements.

The SR163 Site Manager (acting as a Principal Contractor Site Manager / PCSM) is responsible forleading, coordinating, and safely managing high-voltage substations and energy infrastructure construction projects.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Site Manager:

• Represent the Principal Contractor and assist them in discharging their duties under the Construction(Design & Management Regulation 2015) by enacting the Site Manager role.
• Health, Safety, and Compliance: Enact Principal Contractor duties under the CDM Regulations 2015,manage Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
• Substation & Site Controls: Manage impressed voltage hazard controls, temporary works, excavationsafety (HSG47), and CDM demarcation zones in live EHV/substation environments
• Site Operations & Coordination: Oversee daily civil, electrical, or M&E construction activities, directsubcontractors, and manage site resources, plant, and logistics
• Stakeholder & Design Liaison: Act as the primary contact between National Grid representatives, designteams, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve site issues and track progress.
• Documentation & Auditing: Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, safety inspections, audits, and maintainproject/H&S files.

• SR163 Authorisation: Valid National Grid SR163 site management credentials and NSI 6 & 8 competencies.
• Hold Safety & Technical Tickets: SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), First Aid at Work,Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor (TWC/TWS), and Impressed Voltage Management (IVMP)training.
• Working Knowledge of Substations, Primary, Secondary and Auxiliary equipment
• Experience with drafting Risk Assessment & Method Statements
• Full UK Driving Licence
