Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Design Manager to lead engineering design delivery on multi-disciplinary substation projects for UK transmission operators, based in Kentish Town with National Grid ETP framework. You will manage design packages across HV plant, protection, cables, civils, and ensure CDM 2015 compliance.

You will work with the Energy Team, support tender phases, lead resources, and drive continual design management improvements while maintaining programmes and liaising with

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design packages for power transmission or major civils.
• Experience as Principal Designer Representative under CDM 2015.
• Delivery of substation projects for UK Transmission Service Operators is desirable.
• UK Engineering institute membership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design delivery of National Grid substations (400kV/132kV) and related projects.
• Lead Design Management at tender or Early Contractor Engagement and allocate resources.
• Coordinate HV Plant, Protection and Control, HV Cables, Overhead Lines and Civils with internal/external designers.
• Ensure CDM 2015 compliance as Principal Designer Representative on projects.
• Support programme development and interfacing with procurement and contractors.
