Job summary

Egis, a global architecture and engineering group, seeks a Commissioning Engineer to lead protection, control and SCADA commissioning across substations, cables and lines up to 132kV (and to 400kV for some assets). You will support project delivery, ensure regulatory compliance and work with clients and vendors.

Role requires significant experience in protection systems, strong documentation, and willingness to travel nationally within the UK.

Qualifications

• 10+ years delivering protection commissioning in electricity distribution/transmission.
• Experience with protection on switchgear, transformers and feeders up to 400 kV.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-commissioning inspection and off-load tests.
• Witness primary substation tests and protection relay checks.
• Test SCADA integration using IEC61850/DNP3 protocols.
• Maintain commissioning records and report progress to the team.
• Support and guide other team members in protection commissioning.
