Subsea Technology & Rentals (STR) in Aberdeen seeks a Senior Survey Engineer to lead the technical direction and oversee preparation, testing, integration, and operation of complex survey and subsea sensor systems.

Based in the workshop, you will mentor technicians, support project execution, ensure data integrity, quality and HSE compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and equipment.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 5 years experience in subsea survey equipment.
• Extensive offshore survey, subsea, or ROV operations experience.
• Expert working knowledge of survey, positioning, and oceanographic equipment.
• Proven experience with industry standard systems (Sonardyne, Exail, Norbit, Kongsberg, Teledyne, Valeport, R2 Sonic, Edgetech, Innova).
• Advanced understanding of electrical/electronic systems, fibre optics, network architectures and protocols.

Aufgaben

• Lead preparation, testing, calibration, integration, and maintenance of survey and subsea equipment.
• Act as senior technical authority for fault finding, diagnostics, and complex repairs.
• Review, develop, and approve test procedures and mobilisation documentation.
• Lead equipment mobilisation and demobilisation to meet project specifications.
• Configure complex survey systems including firmware management, software configuration, network setup, timing, and interface testing.
• Create and check cable drawings for STR, Third Party and Client equipment.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems, manufacturer requirements, industry standards, and client specs.
• Maintain workshop documentation, calibration records, asset histories, and performance data.
• Support equipment selection, upgrades, and technical improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical input to project planning, risk assessments, readiness reviews.
• Promote and participate in Quality and HSE initiatives within the team.
• Mentor Trainee and Survey Technicians; support field deployment.
• Be part of Global Technical Support on‑call team.
