Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design and deliver embedded software for subsea control systems. You will lead complex troubleshooting, drive quality improvements, and contribute across multiple projects.

Responsibilities include reviews, XML configurations, Python tooling, and cross‑platform C/C++ development for Windows and RT-Linux, with distribution systems like Modbus, CAN and Ethernet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong experience with embedded software development in C/C++, plus familiarity with Python and Java SE.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and code reviews to ensure robust, compliant, and maintainable software.
• Produce and validate XML-based configurations for Subsea Electronic Modules and guide junior engineers.
• Develop and enhance Python-based tools to streamline engineering workflows and automation.
• Apply object-oriented design, Java SE, and cross-platform C/C++ development for Windows and real-time Linux.
• Architect and support distributed communication systems using Modbus, CAN, Ethernet UDP/TCP and other protocols.
• Lead system-level troubleshooting across software, communications, and hardware interfaces.
